Save the Lumsden Maternity Centre

Save the Lumsden Maternity Centre.
The Southern District Health Board (SDHB) plans to close the Primary Maternity Facility at Lumsden.

The centre provides birthing and in-patient respite care for new parents (thats right – mums and dads can stay in the private double bedrooms) as well as teaching the basics of parenthood. Everything from breastfeeding to nappies. As well as providing crucial support to pregnancies travelling from Queenstown to Southland Hospital in Invercargill.

You can help. Write a submission to the Southern DHB opposing the closure by Wednesday 28th March! If we can get every person in this group to write a submission that would show the SDHB just how important this facility is to the community.

Some concerned locals have put together a submission guide: https://tinyurl.com/lumsdensubmissionguide with relevant information to make it a bit easier for you. PLEASE SHARE this with friends and family and urge everyone you know to make a submission by 5pm Wednesday.
