Junior Customer Support Technician

Queenstown IT have a position available for a Junior Customer Support Technician to join our busy team. This role is mainly centred around customer service and ranges from helping walk-in customers; to supporting our existing clients throughout Queenstown and the surrounding areas.

Below is a list of potential tasks (but not limited to) that are expected in this role on a regular basis:

  • – Assisting new and existing customers in person, via email, phone, remote sessions
  • – Data recovery; Screen replacements; Malware checks and removals
  • – Troubleshooting hardware, software
  • – Provide individual customer training and support on request
  • – Maintain current and accurate inventory of software, hardware, resources
  • – Detailed documentation
  • – Analytical problem solving
  • – Walking or driving to customer locations. Most within walking distance in the CBD but an NZ Driver’s license is required for travel to clients situated outside the CBD. (Reimbursement for KM is provided if using employee vehicle.)To be considered for this role you will have the following:
  • – Relevant education and/or experience in desktop support
  • – Proven customer service skills
  • – Immaculate written and verbal communication skills in English
  • – Willingness to learn and take on new challenges with the ability to be self-sufficient when required
  • – Familiarity with Windows 7, MSOffice. (Advantage if you also have knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory & Exchange)
  • – Ability to multitask
  • – A ‘can do – will do’ attitude with the belief that every problem has a solution
  • – NZ driver’s licence
  • – Residence in the Queenstown area with Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
